Reality Revisited: Our First Batch of Speakers
Throughout the years TEDxPortofSpain conferences have become a much anticipated event and our event for 2016 is no different. This year our esteemed speakers will indulge in the theme Reality Revisited. Our speakers will be announced weekly leading up to our grand event. This week we are excited to bring to you our first batch of speakers: Akosua Dardaine Edwards and Kheston Walkins. We also take this opportunity to launch our event tickets which are available at Reality Revisited 2016 Event.
Akosua Dardaine Edwards
Akosua Dardaine Edwards has won awards for Social Entrepreneur of the Year in Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean Female Social Entrepreneur of the Year from the Global Innovation Partners and the Caribbean Center of Excellence for Sustainable Livelihoods (CoESL). She offers entrepreneurial and business support with a message of unconditional self‐love and living a life in love and personal power. Imagine Ugandan women, strangers until that moment, giving her an existential nudge: Who are you?! In her second book, Nyabo (Madam)—Why Are You Here?, Akosua shares about her self‐discovery. Her first book, What did I Learn Today? was published in 2013. In both, she explores self‐love and transformation.

Kheston Walkins
Kheston Walkins is a young entrepreneur from Trinidad and Tobago that was selected to attend the Young Leaders of the America’s Initiative, 2016 (YLAI) by the United States State Department. This is an initiative of President Barack Obama that brings Social and Business Entrepreneurs from across Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a PhD candidate in Molecular Genetics and is developing a tool for data driven cancer diagnosis. Kheston’s core interest is in health technology and as a User Experience/ User Interface Designer, he uses these skillsets on a current project that focuses on the development of a clinical and home care tool for aphasic and stroke patients which is intended to solve challenges with proximate as well as remote communication.
