Gillian Lucky
Gillian Lucky is an Attorney at Law who has in the past occupied the positions of Senior State Counsel at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions; Government Senator; Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, Opposition Member of Parliament and a Temporary High Court Judge. Gillian is currently the Director of the Police Complaints Authority; a columnist with the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian newspaper; host of the television programme Just Gill and Principal of the Academy of Tertiary Studies (ATS).Gillian was also the chairman of the Omnibus Legislation Committee; Chairman of the Committee for the Regularization of the Home Video Industry and a Member of the Crime and Justice Commission.
Gillian graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1989 with Upper Second Class Honours and was awarded the Therese Sylvester Prize for the Most Outstanding University Student- Cave Hill Campus. From 1990 until 2001, Gillian was a lecturer in Business Law at UWI and assisted in the distance learning Programme for that course at UWI.
Gillian is a no-nonsense person dedicated to the welfare of the country. Throughout her professional life Gillian has always extolled the tenets of Integrity, Truth and Justice.
